Steven Wayne Productions in NJ. Not sure of his site, I think it's that name dot com. Good luck!

RE: So many DJ's, Photographers, Videographers. I am just shopping around online as of now (wedding not until Oct 2, 2010)... How soon in advance did you book?

For that matter - how soon did you book everything - the band, photographer & videographer?[/quote]

Hi Futuremrsmoose!

I'm glad you checked them out, they were great people to have film our wedding and the final video was sooooooo good! We watch it often and never get bored with it! I actually noticed that they recently updated their website and it's beautiful. The wedding trailer was my favorite part too. They had our trailer up on Tuesday morning (wedding was Sunday) and we were able to see it while we were just starting our honeymoon. It was an amazing start to our honeymoon in Europe.

We booked most of our vendors between 1 and 1.5 years out from our wedding. I did notice that the best vendors were almost not available at this time too. We actually changed our wedding date because we wanted to book The Infernos Band when they were available. We were married in October and that is a very popular month for weddings. I would say that the best vendors are usually booked pretty far in advance. I wouldn't wait to book vendors if you know you want to use them. Most worked with us with regards to deposits so we were able to secure them for our wedding day and not worry we didn't have enough money to cover them. We felt having good quality was more important than the cheapest of the cheap vendors too. So the better vendors were pretty booked up by the time we called. We got lucky with most vendors that they were available after we booked our location and the band. We wanted to secure those two first and then we moved on from there.

The third vendor we booked was our videographer. www.CreativeVideoEditing.com

The fourth was our florist - Diana Gould Florist - Tarrytown, NY http://www.dianagouldltd.com/

Next was our photographer - He moved out of State but he was phenomenal. If you need a recommendation though, Michael has a few on his website (our videographer) and if he recommends them, I'm sure they are great.

We booked our ceremony entertainment/music next - Gramercy Arts Ensemble www.gramercyarts.com

We did our own invitations so nobody to recommend but we did go to a bunch of stores to get ideas. Blue Tulip is where we found the style we liked the best.

Hope that helps. Good luck and congrats on your wedding. My advice, book everything early! It's less stress and you get the best vendors. We were VERY happy with all of our vendors. Never had a problem with anyone.

RE: So many DJ's, Photographers, Videographers. Who do you choose??

We were married back in October 2007 and we chose to use separate companies for our photo and video. After seeing the work at the "all in one" houses, it was apparant quickly that one was lacking. For Example, a professional photographer who offered video services to make extra money. Their pictures were phenomenal but their video was horrible. After visiting numerous independant companies, we quickly realized this was the best way to choose our photo and video vendors. They each had their expertise and weren't just throwing in another service t omake extra money. Our photographer was phenomenal (he recently moved to california with his wife) but his work was so good that we will fly out there to have a portrait session with them when we get pregnant.

Our videographer was incredible too. They are a husband and wife team and they are such nice people. Our video blew me away too. It was like watching a movie of the day. I have seen wedding videos before but nothing compares to their work. They were never to be seen but caught the most amazing footage. It was so nice. They even threw in a bloopers video for free for us and gave us extra copies of the video at no extra charge (we booked them 1.5 years in advance too). They were so nice and so easy to work with and the final DVD was incredible. I highly recommend them:

http://www.CreativeVideoEditing.com

We also used The Infernos for our Band. Our guests are STILL talking about them too! They were incredible too. I can't even say enough about them. Go to a summer concert they throw (see their website) and you will see why they are so good.

www.TheInfernosBand.com

Their website doesn't do them justice. If you go to a summer concert, you'll see why they are the best!

Ask away about other questions if you need to. I'd love to help. We had an awesome day for our wedding in Tarrytown, NY. At the Lyndhurst Castle.

RE: So many DJ's, Photographers, Videographers. With so many decisions to make, work, all the vendors to choose from, etc., it's hard to decide. I've been all over the web searching for so many different things. If I come across a good DJ, Photographer, or Videographer, I'll let you know.

Kate

RE: So many DJ's, Photographers, Videographers. Who do you choose??

I need major help here!!! We are getting married on a Thursday evening, July 3rd 2008 at the Valley Regency in Clifton, NJ. We are now looking at DJ's, Viedo/Photographers and are on a budget since we are paying for entire wedding on our own.:w00t:

Who can you suggest as a Video/Photographer in the northern NJ area that suggest both at a package rate of $5,000 - $6,000?? I have looked at photographers in Wayne that had their starting package (this remember is just for still photographer) rates starting at $4,200 and up!!! This is not including the videographer. Of course we want quality and want the best pictures/video that is out there. But who do you choose?

Also, we are looking at a company called Golden Note Entertainment as our DJ. Has anyone used them in the past? If so, did you like them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Dawnfromnj:)
