| Hello all, Due to unfortunate circumstances, my planned wedding scheduled for September 21, 2007 at the Oakeside Mansion in Bloomfield, NJ has been cancelled. I am posting this to alert any brides-to-be still looking for a location as I think this place is absolutely wonderful. So, if you are looking for a September date in North Jersey, I would highly recommend this location. Good luck!

| I have an appointment here on Saturday! Anyone have any insights to this place? We are looking for an outdoor reception under a tent...any recommendations on that? Thanks!

An outside ceremony or reception can be beautiful and a lot of fun, but there's always the weather to consider. It depends on the season. A summer day could be beautiful, or extremely hot... Unfortunately we can't control the weather.

| i've never been there, however my mother has. the wedding she went to was last fall. she said the cocktail hour on the poarch was beautiful. however she also mentioned that once they got inside (i believe that due to weather the tent wasn't an option) it was very cramped and the flow of the party was awkward. i guess what you can take from this is that i would look at an indoor reception there only for a very intimate wedding 90 or less. obviously go see for yourself though. before mentioning it to my mom i checked them out. they seem very nice and have lots of other properties in nj.
